I tried to save the world, I tried to save as many people as possible. In the end I ended up killing millions, for you see, I was a key member in the destruction of the world. I was the last President of the United States who oversaw the end of most of the world.
This is a very dark story of how the world could end. Dooms day weapons systems of sodium and colbalt cased nuclear weapons. In a 24 hours period the world goes crazy nuclear weapons are tossed around the world as countries try to settle old and new scores.

Don't waste your money. Characters are one dimensional and uninteresting. I've read several "end of the world" books but this one has Jewish people seem to be megalomaniacs, Muslims to be buffoons, Christians to be pious family loving mass murders and all the other religious and non-religious humans to be raping, murdering, bumbling idiots! The types and numbers of weapons are astronomical! Every leader of every country wants to lead their people, however any head of state would realize that to use so many weapons in a strike as to invite such a massive counter-strike would have no-one to rule! If you like On the Beach, this is your kind of book.
A good idea, seeing a nuclear war from the Potus perspective. Editing is still an issue, lack of paragraph breaks are a problem, but the ending allows for a great follow up. What happens with the survivors south of the Equator?
I like this book coming from the point of view of someone who was involved with the end of the world as we know it. Interesting perspective of final events.
This book is a well written doomsday story. Many books have been written about the subject, however, this book has a few new twists and turns. Although some parts are similar to 'On the Beach', the ending will probably surprise you.
Very interesting plot, would make a great movie. I read this in a single sitting, took me about 3 hours - I did not want to put it down.
The book doesn't appear that it was edited, however, and that does take away from the experience.
I had a few issues with the quality of the editing, I found this book really good. I am hoping for a sequel dealing with the situation in the Southern Hemisphere. While not quite the same sort of ending as the classic Neville Shute novel, "On The Beach",, this book is equally as thought provking, and, in some ways disturbing
Well, that was depressing. If there was a choice between scenarios, Ira always took the darker choice. I think the story was compelling, but I don't think that there was a single page that didn't have a serious typo or misspelling, to a level that it was distracting. Ira, we all need a good editor. Use one.
Throughout the book, I kept waiting for a good series if choices to be made, but the only good choice was at the very end, on the last page.
